Pilot Mountain

I thought I would have had a little more time to post here in North Carolina, but everyone’s been keeping me busy. I just fall into bed exhausted each night…it’s really a rough life…Really.

Today I took a trip to a state park called Pilot’s Mountain. This park features a distinct mountain that has eroded away a pinnacle that stands over 200 feet from its base. We took a trail that wound around the Big Pinnacle and looking straight up that rock edifice spoke of God’s handiwork, not evolution’s.

The mountain may have been awe-inspiring, but I’m not sure which I enjoyed more, the mountain or the expansive vista from the mountain!

Seeing how vast God’s creation is reminded me once again of David’s question in Psalm 8: “When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?”

What a transcendent God we serve-one is in control over the universe, yet He is imminent, or at work with personal detail in each of our lives.

Enjoy the pictures!!
