French Lesson

Gentlemen, listen up! Summer is now here and a problem that should NEVER occur still is. A lesson in french should help delineate right form wrong for the fashion-impaired.

Socks worn with sandals translates in french to: FAUX PAS (pronounced: foe pah). Yes that is correct. This little combination is not at all aesthetically pleasing, so guys, please help turn the tide and start giving out french lessons.

More french lessons to come.

Actually, it is not random at all. I’d just gotten home from church, the prime place to see polo shirts/ short sleeved button downs tucked into jean shorts and rounded out with socks and sandals. If they were at Maranatha, I’d give them style demerits.

Is it okay if I’m going to or from the gym or some other athletic event (something requiring a shoe change)?

Why can’t you put your socks in your shoes if you’re carrying them anyway? It would take a whole five seconds extra.

I will say that on the faux pas continuum, slip-on sandals, like the massaging ones (is there a name for those?) are less controversial with socks than strap on.

Oh yeah, thanks for the contribution, Luke, it is nice to meet you. Welcome to the Path

My older brother once told me I would never get a girlfriend until I stopped doing that. I stopped. I got a girlfriend. Maybe he wasn’t lying to me all these years…..
