I don’t know how many of you are caught up in World Cup proceedings, but I’m still a tru-blooded northerner, sticking by my hockey. I’m not hard core into sports, but I can handle a great hockey game, and last night’s Stanley Cup game #4 left me with a smile on my face. WAY TO GO CANES!! One more left, I can hardly wait.

Couple of problems with you on this one Steph:
1.) It’s hockey, and no one cares. Seriously. The games are being aired on the Outdoor Life Network. Think about that.
2.) I hate soccer, but I’m sooo into the World Cup. I feel its my duty as a full blooded American to root for out country in a game we aren’t that good at, but just to beat the other countries and be imperilistic like we are in everyhing else. I can’t name 3 players, or even possitions on the field, but, I know whats going on. We lost to Cz Reb yesterday 3-0. Now we have to beat Italy and Ghana to advance. We are screwed.
3.) The NBA Finals are on right now, and comsume my sporting time (when not involving international soccer). I think I’m the only one I know who even cares about the Finals. But I do. The Mavs are crushing right now. But that will change. DWade will have a big game, and the series will go 6, but Dallas wins.

Don’t ever utter the word “no one cares,” and “hockey,” in the same phrase if you ever go from a temperate biome to the boreal forest. You could risk your life for such a ridiculous comment! Remember where you are from and where I am from. Therein lies the difference my friend. Not many people give too big of a stink about basketball.
I don’t know, maybe our racism carries over into sports. We don’t have black people up here, so we watch the sports loaded with Canadian and Scandinavian players. Maybe I’m making excuses for watching unpopular sports.
I will admit, I’ve seen some of the NBA finals but none of the World Cup yet…sorry soccer fans!!

That’s because you all live up in the middle of nowwhere and are forced by nature to enjoy things like hockey instead of a civilized event like basketball. Okay, I’m really just sounding dumber and dumber as I type.

I did answer you (I totally answered in like the 1st sentance of the last time I posted…anyway, yeah, go ahead and link me or something).
And I totally watched the 2nd period of game 6 the other night. I saw a goal get scored. The chances of me watching a few moments of Game 7 are rather high, I mean its game 7 and all.
There are a lot of guys I don’t know (who are these goaltenders???!!!) and guys who swtiched teams (when did the Oilers get Pronger and Peca?? How did I not know this?).

Are you kidding me? If we aren’t watching the Cup, the boys in the house are watching the finals. I try to sit down and pay attention for a while too. I figure that could come across as appreciative to any potential mate I may have. Always looking for ways to score points.
