Celebrating my Independence

I hope your Independence Day was as enjoyable as mine was! My cousin Jennifer and her husband and kids are vacationing up here for the week, so we’ve been enjoying having them up here for the first time. I blogged about Toby and Macy in May-they are Jen and Nutt’s two children.

Today we watched a small town parade, took in the events at the park (corn dogs, kiddie rides, catching up with high school friends), sent Jen and Nutt on a boat ride, cooked out, and plan to watch some incredible fireworks. The weather has been divine–73 and sunny.

In closing this quick salute, I do want to say that, for me, this has been a day filled with gratitude toward God. Everything from our freedom, to the weather, to slicing fresh strawberries that someone picked for us has brought to mind God’s goodness. What a gracious God we serve!

73 degrees. I wish. It has been like no lower than 80 for a while. 84 right now. It feels good though
